Busiest person at this years Dinghy Show!
This is Matt Thompson who was the busiest person at this years Dinghy Show, he spent the entire two days with a polishing cloth removing hand prints off the varnish deck’s of his beautiful Albacore.
It’s little wonder it won Concours d’Elegance!
Time to give the trolley a service!
In boat maintenance terms it is the most unloved job, but making sure the hull isn’t being damaged by old supports could
save expensive repairs later in the season!
It’s well cold at the moment!
It was -6.5 when I left at 6 0’clock this morning, my first delivery was South Eastern Galvanizing in Essex, and it was actually positively warm there at -3. I met my first customer at 8, and then back on the A12, it took 62 miles with the heater on max for me to get sensation back to my feet.
Am I still Living The Dream? Absolutely!!!
On the weigh bridge!
A day in the studio!
We are working on the web site so I have spent the day photographing anchors and fenders!
20 years old and still going strong!
We are in the process of servicing MRX’s from the Harp, this one is now 20 years old and still competitive, it just proves how well Ovington Boats build dinghies!
Just a perfect day!

Laser open at the Harp on Sunday, for once the wind direction and strength was spot on, when it’s like this there is no better place to sail in London!
We are experiencing some delays in getting trailers tested.
We have had some delays over the summer months with getting trailers tested, however we are hoping that the situation improves in September.
The Sutton Hoo ship’s Company
We travelled up to Woodbridge over the weekend and visited the Sutton Hoo Ship’s Company, who are actively celebrating Anglo Saxon craftmanship with a full scale 88ft long rowing ship, these images are of the scale model. We became familiar with Sutton Hoo after seeing the 2021 film The Dig staring Ralph Fiennes; standing beside the actual work in progress vessel really gives a sense of its enormity, it was really worth the visit!
All change!
We have been with the same Galvanisers for over thirty years, but sadly they are no longer prepared to collect from sunny Hendon, so we have had to find an alternative.
We are struggling with the new company called Acrow Galvanizing they are polite, there galvanizing is very good, they are efficient, the prices are good and therefore nothing like the last lot!
We are just not used to this sort of service!
Not exactly living the dream!
This is Thursday morning at Parkstone Yacht club unloading and assembling Flying Fifteen trolleys.
As I say not exactly living the dream.
